In general, but now I know the origin, thank you.
Edit - not out there today

Nope. The Edgerton side of Whitney is nicer and more expensive than any part of Westville.
Born and raised here too.

Are you okay with petty crime (packages) and loud noises? Cross off Wooster if the answer is No.
Westville is tied to Whalley Ave, worst street in the city, and I wouldn’t make it part of my life with a 3 year old. Two people killed on Whalley in the past two weeks.
East Rock or a suburb.

Hamden would be better with a small child, Spring Glen or Whitneyville.

Multiple times I see the moderator of this very forum, u/MattFantastic claim New Haven is not being gentrified. I assume the gentrification benefits his business(es).
The entire city is changing, rapidly, and in one direction.

Anywhere right off Grand or Ferry is that bad. Pockets are that bad. Lots of drugs, sex workers at night, and it’s easily the loudest neighborhood. Probably the most culturally rich part of town, Grand Ave is what I imagine Wooster St was 70 years ago. Fair Haven Health is expanding their footprint, and that will probably cue some gentrification in coming years. edit: No one receives a package in Fair Haven

I think anything around Edgewood Park in New Haven is best right now. East Rock and Wooster Square have gotten super pricey. Lots of brand new apartment buildings in addition to the nice, old apartments. The part of Wooster Square I lived in had way more petty crime and the rent was much higher. Car rifled through if unlocked, packages stolen, and anything outside that wasn’t nailed down vanished.
Edgewood area is a decent trade off; you’re on the grittier side of downtown, away from trendy restaurants and grocery stores, but it’s still really close to downtown and much more affordable. You can get everything you need somewhere on Whalley Avenue, though it is one of the worst streets in the city. There’s a new cycle track on Edgewood Ave that is handy for cyclists. There is some petty crime, varies from block to block, but it’s a population more reflective of the city, so you don’t feel like you’re in a bubble. I prefer that, but some folks might just say it’s louder and less safe. And my pumpkin hasn’t been stolen (yet..).

Definitely not Roseann Iuvone.
I could go on for days why that woman is horrible.
She owes me $1800. She made racist comments about my neighbors and neighborhood, was always unprepared for meetings, and posted inaccurate information about us on social media that included our name, faces, and address without permission. But the $1800 pisses me off the most - dont offer it to get the deal done and then ghost us.
Edit - in fact, avoid Seabury Hill because she works for them.
