We need everything, doctors (all types of specialists), dentists, veterinarians, etc. I mean, we can't even keep Denny's in Bangor open every day. Unfortunately, pay is terrible in Maine. There's not much to do, it's expensive, and you have to travel anywhere because Maine is a big state.

It's hard to do without giving away spoilers! It's about a family with children and a cat moving into a home on a busy road traveled by speeding tractor trailer trucks. The property is near a pet sematary (misspelled by the children who made the sign) filled with pets killed by the road. I grew up right off of the road that inspired the book. ❀🐾

You may have this deleted because there is a megathread for people visiting and moving here. You also need to give more details. Do you want go near the coast? Do you want a cabin or do you want to camp? Not the same thing.

Tried for a couple of years to get enough copies of Where the Crawdads Sing for our book club (through the library) and we finally decided we'd read it over summer vacation as the movie was coming out. So disappointed! Everyone had raved about it, it got great reviews, but I was so frustrated reading it. It's between this and The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.

Don't put food in your trash. Compost it. It's so nice not having to worry about raccoons in my trash. Before I composted, they were there every week. Once I forgot to take the middle section out of the pizza box. There must have been cheese and grease on it because a huge raccoon got it. My husband heard it on the side porch. He turned the light on and it was the fattest raccoon he had ever seen. He calls him King Coon (after King Kong, for clarification). Our neighborhood must be part of his nightly rounds, but that was our only trash visitor in a decade.

Seriously, I live on wooded lot. I spent over a grand having trees taken down safely just a couple of months ago. Have it taken down immediately. If it falls on the line, then you're the asshole who didn't pay for preventive maintenance. There are many companies in Maine you can call. Don't wait. You took pictures and told your insurance already. Insurance is for after an accident, they don't want to cover things that can be prevented. You have given them proof to deny a claim if the tree falls on your neighbors property. They'll want to know why you knew there was an issue and didn't have it taken care of. Google tree service. They take it down safely in a short time. They can also let you know what other trees on the property may be a problem. You wouldn't send a picture or call your insurance company if you had a leaking pipe. You would call a plumber to take care of it. You are in Maine. Get a tree guy.

Why haven't you had the tree cut down before it can damage anything? Google is a useful tool. Use it. If it falls on the line, the power company will take care of it. If it falls on someone else's property you will be responsible. Take care of it before it falls! πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
