There are many restaurants in the area looking for employees.
If he has some misdemeanor convictions, he should bring it up in interviews and explain what happened, and more importantly, what he's learned from the experience and why he won't do the same things again. It may not sway some employers, but if he's interviewing well otherwise and they really need the help, it is better to get that out in the open up front.

I always ask for the addresses where they're working so I can talk to the neighbors to get feedback about their work before committing. 9 times out of 10 they just walk away.

Yes, absolutely. Admittedly I don't walk on the trails after dark, but I've lived in Columbia for over 10 years and never felt unsafe. In most neighborhoods the crime is limited to car break ins.

I don't see any voters changing their minds because of it, but it might draw a few people who haven't voted yet and weren't going to make an effort to vote.

100% agree. I've heard through neighbors that they've been a little careless and doing some shady things with creative accounting.

Ma’s Kettle in Savage just posted that they’re offering Thanksgiving dinners at $19 per person. You pick up on Wednesday and reheat.

There's a guy - Mr. Jon and Friends (https://www.mrjonmusic.com/) - who plays kids shows at local venues. He doesn't do face painting or balloon animals but is pretty well reviewed by some of the local parenting groups.

Calvin Ball’s commercial has super irritating music but his message has been a lot more positive.
It’s going to be a really close election (if the signs around the county are any indication) and maybe Kittleman is pulling out all of the stops.

Second Frisco. Their new space is fantastic! Black Flag is also great.

Are you looking for a single family home or townhouse? Family friendly or does that not matter? Are you commuting to somewhere outside of Columbia?
All of the neighborhoods have a few things in common--the Columbia Association, extensive walking trails, shops and restaurants are in each village/neighborhood. Some neighborhoods are older than others and some schools get higher GreatSchools ratings (and you will pay more to live in those neighborhoods). Crime is relatively low.

It usually moves quickly (15-20 min at most), but I agree that arriving 2 hours early is a good idea. Worst case scenario, you can grab some breakfast or coffee once you're through security.

Reply to Quietest neighborhoods good for kids? by BalancingAct247
All of the neighborhoods are relatively quiet. Even though Columbia is technically a city, aside from Merriweather, it’s fairly quiet at night. You’ll hear a little more noise around the village centers or in shopping areas, but not a lot.
With your budget, you should be able to find a SFH in a quiet neighborhood pretty much anywhere in Columbia.
