Bahnan’s is classic for anything Mediterranean. My family is Greek and we usually get our Easter lambs from there. Kalamos is newer but better focused on imported Greek goods, we go there for snacks, Nescafé, etc. They’re legit and don’t get enough attention, plus the owners are really nice.

It’s possible but the south end does lie directly under one of the Logan flight paths and I know personally from flying out that the planes on that path stay low over the south end, so it could just be a flight path thing.

I have a friend who claims that he had more problems with plane noise in the south end than he ever has in Eastie.

It has nothing to do with the snow accumulation (there isn’t much) and everything to do with the roads not being treated yet and the temps being low enough for ice to form pretty easily.

Your link only talks about nuisance ones existing - that’s not necessarily an issue of predation but of human encroachment. It says nothing to your assertion of overwhelmingly harmful effects on the deer population.

Cats shouldn’t be outdoors anyways. And the coyote population controls the deer population which controls the tick population which controls tick-borne illnesses.
I’ll take that over some yuppie who can’t take care of their own pets complaining when wild animals behave like wild animals in the wild.

Recruiters don’t pay you, nobody cares who recruits you, the latter maybe I guess. Maybe you’re confusing recruitment and contracting agencies.

You seem upset by a really even-handed comment. Actually living in the city and street parking regularly (as I and my wife did for quite a few years), I'd see situations like that u/BikeIsKing describes regularly. Enough to know that if I see weird/obnoxious parking spacing, I safely bet on it being due to the vagaries of people leaving and arriving at different times leaving the awkward gaps.
Dollars to donuts this person squeezed into a spot and someone in front of them left before OP arrived. They also said they had 2 feet of space behind them, which is a luxury when street parking here, and plenty of room to get out.
This is why people buy bumper buddies.

At least for meats, Wegman’s has been on par with or cheaper than anywhere I’ve been to here (mostly TJ’s, Star, and that one market out in Acton). The MB I’ve gone to I haven’t been in years because it’s near my grandmother’s and when we visit her we don’t ever need to do any shopping.

I only see one example in your post of adjusting for such a slow burn rate. Might be a good strategy but I’m not sure most startups (especially earlier stages) are doing this, at least not yet.

Overall volume is down but deals are happening. My company just closed our series A and later stage VCs with money to deploy are retreating to earlier stages like seed and series A.

Startups aren’t usually the best place to go for the first job unless they have good mentorship infrastructure (some do, most don’t). And I say this as someone who has spent half of their career in startups and loves startupland. Make sure you suss that out while interviewing.

I’d say overall volume of my inbound recruiter messages is down, but I straddle a few different job titles and the ML ones are still going pretty strong.
My employer just recently closed our own series A, and a lot of AI startups are still being funded (we also have a good ARR for our stage) even though the overall environment is more difficult. I think a lot of rounds are closing now too as VCs prepare for the quiet holiday season.

The housing will become less affordable unless more density is built. Worcester is already on an upswing (born there and most of my family is there) and more commuter rail access north and west and more frequent trains would really open up Worcester for families as another option, but dense housing would have to follow for it to remain an option. A lot of the quieter neighborhoods (Tatnuck, Forest Grove, etc.) would probably become less quiet. I think that’s fine, but selling residents on that will be hard.

Yep, I lived just a little north from there, just off Amelia Island. It has a similar problem to Salem too where there aren't many ways to and from the island itself (just 2 roads, and only one is really used that much).

Never lived in a tourist town I take it. Locals can’t stand tourists because, even if many work in service and benefit from tourism, they make day to day life hell during the tourist season, decrease quality of life, increase pollution, etc. Local governments don’t build up infrastructure to accommodate tourists, the only people enriched by it (since local service workers tend to make peanuts and can barely make ends meet) are a few shitty business owners, and tourism is a poor, sporadic source of tax income anyways, the benefits rarely outweigh the costs for the average person.
Source: lived in a Florida beach resort town from middle school until college.
