It was the boat from the famous SNL The Lonely Island video. T-Pain brought it here for a Steelers game in the late fall of last year since he's a big fan. That's the game he sang both the National Anthem and led the Terrible Towel wave. Had it transported to Cincinnati, sailed it the rest of the way since he likes seeing this part of the country. Took him a week.
It got stuck after the engine broke and unfortunately for him it was right before a big flood, so the boat took on water and got stuck in the riverbed.
He's been trying to move it for months but then it started leaking fuel (prob from a cracked hull from river debris) so he had to get a boat salvage team, but the river has been running high for a while so this was the first time he could salvage the boat in weeks.
Sad story.

Spread over all the PA taxpayers it's not that much. You'll get the bill soon.

Go to Pennie and apply. If you qualify for Medicaid they will send you that way. You may also qualify for a subsidy for an ACA plan.
Also you need to be 100 percent sure if you have insurance or not because some providers can get in trouble for billing someone private pay rates if they accept the insurance you have.

Did you tell wilkinsburg? They probably need to investigate and then call out wpj water.
I lived near there in the past and wilkinsburg for all of its faults had quick response to these situations.

Fuck them. Wow. They're taking $$$ from the department of Ed and then also turning around and avoiding property taxes. Assholes.
All while surviving on taxpayer money. That's balls.
That explains the shell company. So they can keep getting a shit ton from DOE to reimburse leases.

Agreed. They really don't cover much. Stuff in your home breaks and you gotta pay for it. All the warranty does is add a profit source to the company offering the warranty.
good article that suggests you put the premiums into an emergency fund instead -- https://www.investopedia.com/articles/mortgages-real-estate/11/home-warranty-worth-it.asp

It's not owned by GE. It's owned by a Jewish family close to the Shapiras and some of the other founding families and a lot of times (like the one in the Fox Chapel plaza) Giant Eagle pays the lease for Community to use the space so that way a friend is blocking the space from a larger competitor to take over.

Expiration dates are useless and contribute to both food waste and food company profits.

Expiration dates are mainly marketing. They're only required a small # of foods and there's no real science behind those either.

Is that the expiration date or the manufacture date? you can always bring it back and they will exchange it.

So what it seems like for propel is that propel set up a shell non-profit to own the parcel that their northside school is on and then they rent it to Propel school. You can't do this -- Propel itself could own the parcel and not pay taxes on it, but a separate company that owns the property is making rent on it, and that's taxable.

You're conflating tax emptions for properties vs. institutions. this is going over tax exempt parcels that they're saying shouldn't be. and I looked at the list and there are only 6 upmc parcels on it. It won't be worth their while (upmc) most likely to drag this out in court beacuse I'm also sure that Gainey made sure that the parcels they picked were very egregious examples.

Non profit status isn't a binary. The institution can be a non profit but have divisions or properties that are not ..and those can be taxed. UPMC has a number of for profit divisions including the health plan.

That's amazing. No idea. It sounds like this is just one round of many to come. Good for Gainey for thinking a bit outside of the box. The previous 2 mayors tried to go head to head with UPMC and got nowhere. This will at least start to provide some more tax revenue and begin to move the needle..

you used to need to apply for a permit - https://apps.pittsburghpa.gov/dcp/Urban_Agriculture_Handout_New_Legislation_Version.pdf
But now it seems you don't -
https://firemancreative.net/city-of-pittsburgh-passes-new-urban-agriculture-zoning-code/
https://apps.pittsburghpa.gov/dcp/2015.03.10_-_Urban_Agriculture_Final_Revision.pdf
I'd still call the city anyway to find out the exact requirements. It seems that you need a decent amount of space even for a few chickens within the city, and not many people have that much space especially if you're in an east end neighborhood.
