A lot of people have over the years. I live up that was but commute to Bucks County and lots of people at work have friends or relatives that did.

It could be a nice area to live but the corruption, bad roads, poor school districts, etc. just makes it so bad that good people with resources leave, good people without resources get stuck and corrupt crappy government happily proliferates.

I think that the U.S. needs to quietly get behind Canada's effort here.

I don't think we need to boss around leading everything. I don't see why we can't let our good allies like Canada take more diplomatic point on some things in consultation with us while we keep our power and might just over the horizon when/if they need us to bring in more muscle.

I know how you feel. I'm OK with deep rural areas looking for my own land and prices are brutal for acreage even in so-so school districts all along Blue Mountain both sides.

I commute to Bucks County and nothing's easy between there and where I live on the Carbon-Monroe County line.

Good luck though, I hope you find something.

I grew up in and still live within 15 miles radius of the Turnpike's Lehigh Tunnel for 50 years now sort of where the Lehigh Valley blends into the Slate Belt, Coal Region and Poconos.

I grew up just south of the mountain where my family still owns a decent amount of land but I now live north of the mountain with my gf so decent insight on both the 610 and 570, lol.

All I can say is that you better bring money for what you want due to the influx of North Jersey and New York residents seeking cheaper WFH primary residences, vacation homes, or Airbnb investment properties increasing prices. Properties with decent acreage are particularly sought after and scarcer than they used to be.

Also rural acreage with both good schools and proximity to a town with cultural amenities is going to hard to find. Actual decent schools are going to be found closer to the north side of Allentown and Bethlehem than right along the mountain or anywhere north of the tunnel. School districts north of the mountain are generally a real mess, poorly-funded, and high taxes due to lack of strong local tax base.

If you have decent funds, maybe north of Nazareth in Bushkill Township which is close to Jacobsburg State Park off of Route 33. Also the scenic area east of Hamburg NW of Kutztown near Hawk Mountain north of I-78 though the 3 school districts out there (Hamburg Area, Kutztown Area, and Northwestern Lehigh might not be quite as good as Nazareth.

I agree with your take on it but I have lived in this state a looknnng time and I still wonder if they would interpret a investor-in-the-harvest sharing-type membership arrangement as a version of commercial venture. My educated guess that they would and at the least it would be taken to court which would be a PITA for everyone.

That said, I like the concept and wish OP and the hunter they'd work with the best as it would seem to effectively distribute the resource.

I"m guessing here to a degree but the PA Game Commission usually isn't cool with anything even hinting of an exchange of money for wild game acquired through a regular hunting license. I know a lot of hunters and not one has ever done this.

Basically you're either you're friends with a hunter and they just give you part of their harvest as q gift or you buy venison from a commercial operation that raises and processes their own captive deer herd.

That's great for OP and kudos to Chester County. Good staff in any library or society represent such an underappreciated resource in any community.

I grew up in a very rural PA community with no library whatsoever at a time that the internet wasn't yet in widespread use and from personal experience libraries and historical/genealogical societies matter.

I'm from northeastern PA but work in nearby Bucks County and am into history.

Not super-familiar with Chester County but as a very large and prosperous county I'm fairly confident that they'd have a sizable historical and/or genealogical society down that way in the West Chester area that would be able to help you out.

Good luck!
