I have but one upvote to give.
The two parties NEED each other to point to as being at fault to distract us from their overall uselessness to do anything beyond picking up their paychecks.

I work as a municipal park manager outside Philly and even with doggy waste bags and multiple trash cans provided, people still do this or worse, sling them to hang in the trees and bushes for me to clean up.
Just the way some people are, unfortunately.

I'm in the little sliver of far, far western Monroe bordered by Carbon on two sides and can confirm. Monroe as a whole voted blue but my corner of it is every bit as red as any place in Carbon.

Yeah, voting for an out-of-stater who knows nothing about the place (and doesn't appear to care about that fact) to represent us makes a lot of sense.

What a surprise, the out-of-state candidate is getting nothing but out-of-state money.
Allemaengel t1_iuwwqhw wrote
Nope, not gonna happen in the end. Fetterman wins it in a close one.
Source: moderate Republican never voting for Oz or Mastriano. And I'm not the only one either.

No, not actually "bad" but you'd expect more given the insanely high-priced real estate and high school taxes there.
I used to live and still work on Bucks but now commute from the Poconos which isn't exactly ideal but that's how bad housing costs are for working class folks in Bucks County.

Good luck with that, lol.
I'm from Northeast PA and PennDOT operates on don'tgiveacrap clown time.

Ah, my home region of the Poconos, lol.
Such a strange area in many ways including politically. Some areas like where I am are hard-core Republican while others are very Democratic and things can change over just a few miles.
The place tourists experience for a weekend is VERY different from that which longtime locals do.

Sure is.
That road's the Wild West. The PSP basically disappeared from it from COVID onwards.

I hate I-78.
It's part of my commute from the Poconos to work in Bucks County and it sucks.
Far too many trucks in general plus a zillion reckless non-trucker idiots doing dumbass stuff. Everyone's going too fast for conditions, tailgating plus everyone trying to get around oblivious left-lane campers
Just one person makes a mistake, crashes and regional gridlock results.

Ah, makes sense.
Confusion due to one here in Monroe County in the Poconos as well.

Being from the Ross Township area I can say in its case it (and adjoing second-class townships) functions as a fairly simple local government that keeps the country roads plowed and mowed; approves zoning and land use developments; does basic building permits and inspections; maintains a small community park; and gives some support to its local volunteer fire companies.
That's about it but yeah they are essentially rural, much simpler versions of cities in their function.

My greatest sympathies from here in Pennsylvania's Poconos only 2 hours from Manhattan.
I know exactly what you're dealing with - it's been relentless here as well. Truly disrespectful slobs.
