Maybe summers there are nice. I've only been there in Septembers.
I work road construction outside Philly and summer doing roadwork in southeastern PA is really rough at times.
I just love winter, especially starry nights with a full moon on the snow.

And there's that too.
I don't think Krasner seems to like doing the heavy lifts that job requires anymore than Kenney does his.
I think Philly deserves a more proactive DA but that's for the voters of Philly to decide in the next election and like you said, not for the idiots in Harrisburg to waste money on.

Got badly overused.
Hell of a lot of people on the Philly sub seem to hate it anytime it gets discussed there.

I'm down here in northern Pennsylvania and your entire second paragraph is exactly why I like Vermont.
Long, cold dark winters beat hot, humid buggy summers with ticks, yellow jackets, poison ivy and mosquitoes any day.

Rip it out, people. Just don't use it.

We half-ass so much else in this state, why not that too?
Falling down bridges/pothole craters, 2nd highest gas tax, PSP intolerance of even a single recreational joint, a highly-paid state legislature that acts part-time and does nothing even on days it's in session, a Turnpike hiking tolls every year through 2050 and so forth and so on.
Harrisburg couldn't govern itself out of a wet paper bag even if someone else tore it open for them first.

I grew up in Northwestern Lehigh and would recommend that area over anything north of the mountain including where I live now on the Carbon-Monroe line.
Tamaqua and Lehighton school districts are both characterized by very marginal quality, high taxes, and school board infighting, football hazing scandals, excessive administrator turnover, etc.
In Northwestern you could get a decent-sized lor, good school district and not be as far away from the core of the Lehigh Valley as north of the mountain. Plus not pay those Southern Lehigh-East Penn-Parkland prices.

Love your state and enjoy reading your discussions - learning so much.

True down here in northeastern PA as well.

No. It broke through a dilapidated fence and came down a bank, through brush, and onto the road in the dark/fog at the last minute. Of course it was wearing a dark blue horse blanket too.
Horse survived and was back in its pasture but my car was totaled, lol.

I have over 30 years driving experience, live in a hilly rural area with lots of deer in lots of brushy woods up against the road with blind curves, blind hills and banks/drop-off both sides. Little warning
Plus I have a 3-hour 120 mile roundtrip daily commute.
Add all that up and deer encounters gonna happen.
On the other hand I have no vehicular accidents ruled my fault, zero moving violations/speeding tickets and exactly one parking ticket.
So I drive "substantially safe". Know more about the person before making a judgment.
Just a thought.

Because it's getting overused and misapplied to the point it's just tired as a number of people on the Philly sub will attest
That said, there's nothing wrong with it in, and of, itself when it was properly used by Philly residents in normal conversation.
But people in Pennsyltucky where I live using it? Lol.
