Marlboro's demise still stings. I graduated 30 years ago this May and I would have loved to attend a reunion. Sigh.

If you're going up to Jeffersonville, I'd say 158 Main is a step above the Family Table - but I haven't been to the Family Table in a while so I guess I need to check again for quality control. :) Brunch at 158 is one of my favorite things (OH and if you're up that way check out My Favorite Things for lunch & dinner - upstairs from 158).

There are tax credits in place already. Up to $2000 I think. Plus rebates - check Efficiency Vermont.

We have a few "anti-woke" folk running for school board in Milton. They're definitely getting more subtle about their dog whistles but couldn't resist that one, I guess.

I moved here two years ago and just about everyone I've talked to has been lovely. There's a few of those MAGA flag trucks that drive around a lot but I just chuckle and go about my business. The dog park is awesome. This town definitely doesn't fit its old stereotype!

I live in Milton and I hadn't heard about the blackface parade - can you point me in the right direction for info? I'm googling but not finding anything. (I'm not saying - at all - that it didn't happen, I just want to know what's up!)

Everything is about race because white people made it that way. You can't just ignore our country's entire racist history and decide that discussing the very real wounds that are NOT healed is "driving wedges" in any kind of good faith manner. YOU are free to pretend it's "over" and we should "move on" and unite, because you come from a place of privilege, even if it's unacknowledged.
If I was strangling you, and told you to get over it without removing my hands from your neck, that your complaining makes things worse... how would you feel? Or if I stopped strangling you and instead of getting you help, or allowing you to seek that help yourself, I told you, "shut up, you're fine, it's over," would you be so quick to put that history in the past and move on?
Please understand that the wounds of racism are not healed, and recognizing those wounds only "makes things worse" for those who inflicted them.

Please don't be this disingenuous. What should be, and what is, in this country, are VERY different things. No, we should not be judged by the color of our skin, but we are. Constantly. And to not acknowledge that fact demonstrates either profound ignorance or possibly an issue with character - which you admit is how we should be judged.

The Darn Tough ski socks have extra padding on the shin area but aren't as thick around the foot. They're taller than your boots. You can get 'em in different thicknesses but I've found the thinner ones are plenty warm and it's easier to fit into your boots that way - ski boots aren't generally generously sized.

What's your budget look like? I have a friend who is a realtor and she has a few parcels available with permits in place already - St. Albans, Fairfax, Jericho.

I don't want random strangers with guns wandering around my yard/woods. That's not selfish. There aren't many spots on our land where you're not fairly close to a home. It's not appropriate.
