The stunning Sorvagsvatn lake on the Faroe Islands, an optical illusion as a result of the angle and slope of the cliff from which this photo is taken. Panorama of 6 shots.
This was shot in Sary Jaz, a remote valley in Eastern Kyrgyzstan, at an altitude of around 3000m. Sary Jaz means Yellow Valley, and the sun-burnt grass leaves no doubt as to the name. The snowcapped ridge is 5000+m high, and just behind them, at 7010m tall, Khan Tengri is just out of sight.
