Manayunk Tavern is the best neighborhood bar hands down, and the bar staff (Adrian in particular) are all fantastic. It's such a loss that it's going to be ruined by the most pretentious business in Manayunk.

The corner market on Coral and York two blocks away actually has an incredible one. The owners are Dominican I believe, but the mans in the deli used to make a mean Italian hoagie.

They closed everywhere except for Passyunk, and that gym will stay open under new ownership. Kind of scummy because they closed with no notice and automatically transferred everyone's membership to the Passyunk location on the last day of the month. As for Manayunk, AFC is probably your best bet.

There’s actually an ongoing project right now to redevelop/restore the Sluice House right outside of Manayunk and reconnect the canal to the Schuykill. So, they’re trying.
