The encryption is from your end to the other and only both devices know the code to decrypt the messages. Which means it should be safe.

Get at least cat5e and go for a Switch to connect everything to. You dont need to configure anything that way.

I used a router as an AP a long time ago and currently changes everything to Ubiquity Unifi switches, routers and AP's.

But for OP Inwould recommend to go the normal way. I dont think he is into networking, so easy would be best.

Get one ethernet cable connected to that room and then put an ethernet switch there. You can connect multiple network devices on it. Even an access point for wifi.

If it is negatively, I would not use it. But that would be me. I have no idea if it is legal or not.

It is a good game and the story of you dont get sidetracked to much is good too.

But just be aware that it is an online game. The most fun you will have is with people together. I loved playing ffxi and I did play xiv too, but life catched up.
