Nice saw but do you actually use it every day? Running a carpentry shop out of the garage?

You can be sure about the new Craftsman stuff- pure junk. It really bugs me when once respected brands are sold just for the name and trademark.

One of the first short TED talks, and actually extremely useful.
So bummed that TED has just become an Uber rich circle jerk.

I’m a Henkels guy but they have really diluted their brand. Zwilling is top notch and basically a direct competitor to Wusthof, anything else with the Henkels branding I’d avoid.

I’m in the basement catching up on some TV series while hiding from my wife’s book club.
Well not hiding just away from the ladies.

I don’t know sewing machines but plenty of mechanical gear trains have one component designed to fail in order to save the rest. Like a shear key on a lawnmower. Might not be a bad idea to keep a spare around though

Asked me “which account are you on?” - also they don’t accept cash - B2B purchase orders only. I mean I could register and get a business license and then set up an account but it doesn’t seem worth the cost and effort.

It really does vary locally- around me absolutely none of them will sell to individuals. It’s a sales tax thing, they just don’t want to mess with it at all for the small percentage of business individuals represent.

Yes - there used to be a “check the alignment” service but that’s pretty much a thing of the past.
