They're focusing on this and not, more militarily focused war crimes, like killing POWs. So that's still on the table. It's also a very easy sell, politically. Nations can quibble about military actions all day long. But kidnapping children is going to be hard for talking heads to defend.

The law enforcement officers who participated in the ambush divvyed up Bonnie & Clyde's weapons as trophies. Like old fashioned privateers. So it's no stretch to think that they could also keep the car.

Because Cheney would not comply with an order while in office. And the post of about Cheney's infamous victim.
But I did look it up:
>Quayle confirmed to CNN that everything was turned over to the Archives, and sources familiar with the records of Cheney said he also turned everything over when he left the White House. A spokesperson for Gore said he and his staff turned everything over when leaving the White House and no classified material has been discovered since.

I'll never get over the fact that Harry Whittington publicly apologized to Dick Cheney for getting shot in the face by Cheney.
Also, I've brought it up before on Reddit. But we've heard from Clinton, Bush and Obama about not having classified documents. We haven't heard from Cheney if he did a sweep. And the last mention of "classified documents" and "Cheney" was a story where he said his office would not comply with an executive order regarding them.

When Gitmo opened it's prison for detainees held in the War on Terror, they stated they'd honor the spirit of the Geneva Conventions even though the people captured were classified as "enemy combatants" and not soldiers. Currently, 34 people are being held there. The Geneva Conventions require belligerents to repatriate POWs upon the end of hostilities. Operation Iraqi Freedom ended in 2010 and Operation Enduring Freedom ended in 2014. If the "spirit" of the Geneva Conventions was a consideration these men (as good or bad as they may be) should have been repatriated.
What this does, is give any potential enemy of the US less of an incentive to treat US servicemembers well.

Oh, we're at the whataboutism section of the thread. OK.
Obama and George W Bush are free, in part, because the Iraq and Aghanistan invasions had tacit support of the United Nations. Furthermore, the United States provides about 24% of the UN budget as well as about 16% of NATO's budget. It's a member of the G7 and G20. It's part of Five Eyes. In short, the United States is the only superpower. Putin's warrant is further proof Russia isn't.
I won't justify the invasions or defend Obama or Bush's role. I'm stating a reality.
