This is a bonkers thing to say.
Se7en is good bit if you venture outside Reddit and IMDb, it's just good. It is an extremely self-serious, one-note movie that expresses itself mostly by being edgy. It is a peak refrigerator woman story: Paltrow's character is barely a character and is juet in the story to have her gruesome murder propell the story of the male protagonist. The story and themes get less coherent the more you think about them.
I still like it, it's just insanely overrated by dudes on internet boards

You're getting badgered for no reason over this question because most people accept the norm of movies interested in narrativizing violence instead of approaching it in other ways. Your question is valid imo
