Which is incredibly dumb when you could be heating the house directly with those energy sources instead of the huge loss, cost and safety issue to turn it into hydrogen.

Absolutely not, what waste it would be. Musk is a fantastic engineer and an absolute disaster of a diplomat, that would be a huge waste.

Can you imagine if crew had been a traditional contract? They are 900 million dollar under and years late when its their money theyre losing. Imagine if the loss was the taxpayer's. It'ld be billions already.

Another proof that career scientists arent always smart or informed.
The most we can blame James Webb for sure is being part of the USA government in the 1950s. Nothing else has been substanciated despite investigations to do so and many of the hearsay have been proved to be fabrications.

Shelby, former chairman of Nasa's senate appropriation commitee. Im glad he's no longer in charge, but sad that so little has changed. NASA needs an administrator that can push against congress for the good of Nasa and its goals. Not an administrator that is a 80 yo former senator and was part of the problem in Congress (like Nelson).

This is "Ballast" Nelson's NASA. Use a failing, obsolete but slow to die program to send as much taxpayer money to his friends in old space before it fails for good. Awful, terrible nomination as NASA's Administrator.

Money doesnt even have to move. Just changing the bids and asks without resolving any transaction would change the market capitalization. Certainly money does not have to move to or from Musk for Tesla share prices to change.
If you want to correct misconceptions, first learn.

No no no. Have the government pay the private enterprise for results. Dont pay for planting a tree, pay for a tree actually growing there. And dont give 1 contract, give 2-3 competing contract.
Its the same issue for roads, they pay to pave a road and it barely last because they pay for the road to be paved, and not for the road to last.
Bewaretheicespiders t1_isur90x wrote
Environmental theater. When the goal is planting trees and not growing trees. It can succeed, but it requires someone in charge who 1-understands the science behind it and 2-has some accountability for the results. Which is difficult because it takes decades of care.

People have forgotten that wealth is created. They thus think thats its a zero-sum game (its not). And so they (wrongly) think that is someone has more net worth, it must mean that they took it from other people.
Sadly societies that start to revile wealth creation quickly go on a path of poverty.
edit: Because markets are going down, did you notice we didnt get those how much time did it take for these billionnaires to ""earn"" X million dollar since January 1st news time this year haha.

No money went anywhere, for the most part. Its just the value shares of each enterprise currently trade at.
You have a piece of art thats worth 10'000$ then suddently people decide its just not cool anymore, your net worth drops by 10K but no money was exchanged. Wealth is created, and it can also be wrecked.

I mean most of them shouldnt even be called investors but entrepreneurs. They dont have a portfolio, they have shares in the cies they created or raised, and little else.

Nah like I wrote anyone can get a bachelor in some easy fields by picking easy classes, but master is something else, you usually have to write a master thesis and pass in front of a comittee.
I got my master because I graduated right after the .com crash and there was no work for a while.

Terrible for storage, both long term because of the leaks and boiloff, and on the short term because of the conversion losses. This is just a way to keep europe dependant on gas without calling it gas.
