Shotwell said they expect Starlink to become profitable this year. The Spacex launch cost for Starlink must be significantly less than what they charge for a flight to external clients, since they dont have the cost of dealing with the client, and taking their profit margin into account.

Is it the right market timing for an IPO though?

Boeing sucks, but SpaceX's Starship is Nasa's only authorised lunar lander at the moment, so its not really fair to say Nasa is ignoring SpaceX to go to the moon.

It was never clear to me if the Blok D was supposed to be above or below the lander?

Lots of people wondering that. I mean, we've all done worst in KSP, but that sure would be messy. But again, China dumps toxic hypergolic stages on its villages without a second thought.

Unveils a concept. Its a bit like Dynetics, but stages vertically instead of horizontally. Its meant to ditches the first stage shortly *before* landing on the moon.

The ISS has a terribly problematic cooling system. Sad, but I dont see any long term future for it.

I did consulting work for the CSA. They bemoan (in private) the government's lack of space ambitions just as I do. They were hoping to get a budget boost when the government switched from the CPC to the LPC and especially with an astronaut as minister of transport, but they got nothing. Canada's missing the boat on developping an actual space industry and with what happened to Bombardier the country is well on its way to lose its aerospace industry as whole. That you cannot discuss that like an adult and resort to petty personal attacks, that is dumb.

Europe, Japan, South Korea, India are making a better effort for sure. Even North Korea made it to orbit. Canada's a G7 country with a better GDP than Russia, but has no space ambition at all.

Canada tagging along for the ride if the only thing it ever did. They will, *again*, build yet another robotic arm, and exchange it for a couple of astronaut tickets on an american ride.

No, I dont dismiss the increase. Its something difficult to measure though because they are on very long cycles and we just dont have records for that long. You also cannot only measure the number of, say, hurricanes. Because a strong hurricane in the Altantic pulls cold water from deeper and will reduce the chance of another atlantic hurricane afterwards. But a Gulf of Mexico hurricane will not have this effect because of warmer, shallower water. See how complicated this gets? You can't measure damage either because development increases. Im saying this is complicated and important and outlandish, misleading claims dont help the cause.
Im not a climate change denier, Im a data scientist that likes proper science.

You still can't count all of them as if they were caused by climate change. Its like Covid, you dont count all deaths, you count excess deaths.

Thats weather. Not saying climate change is false, because it isnt, but its unrelated to a hot winter day the same way its not disproved by a cold summer day.

They take every single natural event as a "climate disaster". The bulk of which are Florida hurricanes, according to other sources stating the same number. But of course they had "climate disasters" long before we started burning coal.

I dont hate on subburbs, but I do agree that local problems need to be solved with local funds.
Same for the "incentivizing growth in places"... its not up to the White House to decide where people should go. Tenth amendment and all.
Bewaretheicespiders t1_j9q46xh wrote
Its disingenuous to put that solely on climate. California for example is horribly overpopulated and has terrible environmental and social policies and I say there would be an internal exodus away from it with or without climate change.
The fact that the two States that receive the largest internal migration are two of the hottest States should be a big red flag that there are other, more important factors in play.
