It’s the same old story: In the mid to late 19th Century all the papists were arriving from Europe to destroy the nation and the WASP way of life. Nationalist Politics of the Know Nothings created fear and intolerance, and the Irish and Italian immigrant were relegated to tenement slums and the worst jobs. They quickly assimilated to American life and through hard work and close family and neighborhood connection build businesses, sacrificed to get their kids educated and filled the local churches. Does this all sound familiar?

Why would they relocate? Relocation of a company HQ is extremely complicated. Everything from finding a location, to attrition from displacing employees, to negotiating with local tax authorities, costs and expense of relocation, company morale, vendor contracts, etc., etc. It’s not like moving a bagel shop.

It’s very bad for the environment. I have an orchard and make maple syrup on my Hunterdon County farm and both have been adversely effected by the warm winter. I actually saw a honey bee yesterday.

There’s really nothing to repair. Batteries last over 300K miles and there’s no oil maintenance cost. It cost me about $80 a month to charge at home. That’s an equivalent of 20 gals of regular a month.

I bought a Model Y Performance last year and I’m having a blast driving it. Zero to 60 in 3.5 seconds for under $100K is pretty remarkable. And yes, passing gas stations is a bonus.
