Sound Pine Farm and Milkweed Farm in Brunswick do an annual seedling sale that’s really fantastic - here’s the landing page - preorder options should go live April ish
And here’s an archive of a previous year‘s pre order page photos are gone but the links work to see the varieties they’ve carried previously

Have fun! They are both quite charismatic in my opinion :) the mummichogs would be happiest in a small school. During the breeding season, stickleback males build nests and can be quite territorial - I haven’t kept them longer than a few days for class presentations so I’m not sure of their general needs. They do show up in Aquariums though so can be kept in tanks!

Mummichugs and sticklebacks are both less than 3 inches at adulthood - easy to catch with a minnow trap in a salt marsh and pretty tolerant/hardy but prefer brackish water

Reply to Eagles / Hawks in Maine : visiting Portland in a few weeks for our annual autumn trip and would love to do some bird watching especially for eagles / hawks / herons. Any recommendations ? Have only been to Scarborough marsh area so far. by wearsbluescrubs
Bradbury Mountain and Mount Agementicus are both hotspots during the spring hawk migrations so that’s worth a shot. note: Mt A’s parking lot is under construction so might be better choice next year.
Certainly check in with Freeport Wild Bird Supply if you’re in the area for great birding gear and gifts. The owners also do group as well as private birding tours.

Seriously - the place is beautiful enough on its own. I hate edits like this.
