Hard to argue with your logic, yet there it is...
Kauai is amazing

Agreed. The whole Island is amazing, but if you do nothing else, at least visit Waimea (bonus for going slightly further and seeing the Kalalau overlook, as well)

A scene I've seen before, but captured very well by you, is always welcome!
I find myself wondering how early you had to get there, and fondly remembering the days when Utah's national parks weren't so crowded...
edit: I'm looking forward to you posting Iceland photos, too!

Instead of trying to capture the whole grand view, this is "just" one of the major side canyons.

Yes, it is on the trail from Gold Creek Gulch, above Ohio City. Lots of good hikes available up there, but this is my favorite hike after first arriving, having come up from sea level.

Used to be a candidate for a lonely tree photo, set apart on a small peninsula on the high side of the lake. We guessed what happened from the top of the tree in the lake quite a ways away (the tree's fate later confirmed by Forest Service Ranger we met up there).

Flying along it was surreal - the motion helped communicate the scale of the place

I bet you're entirely correct! I've seen a little of the top through the clouds, and didn't see any safety signs of any sort
