This is why, ultimately, ESA and the third mainline track were such boondoggles.
$15 billion and basically no new riders.

And that's a known limitation of living on SI. People are free to move to better-connected towns in NJ or Eastern Queens if they want a suburban life.
Or maybe they should start electing pro-transit representatives.

If only there was some way to get from point A to point B without driving a personal vehicle. One day I hope we'll have that technology!!!

The citizens of NYC voted for NYS reps and senators that voted for this. That's literally how representative democracy works.

So weird that the NYS Legislature can't change Federal laws.

And yet the SAS carries more people daily than live in SI.

Disagree on the light rail. There's a four track subway just below the surface. There's zero need to spend $billions on extra rail capacity on this corridor.

The same way the rest of the world does it? Either overnight deliveries via the pedestrian space or daytime deliveries parked on a side street and carted the short block to the store.

While true, this only matters if you live within walking distance of a stop. The vast, vast majority of riders transfer and so will have to pay a fare.
The lack of fare collection on the bus is mostly about speeding up service for people boarding at the airport.
