Reply to Affordable housing for intern by GreenLeafy_
Realistically my best friend is renting a 1970s quality renovated one bedroom in a complex for $1780 + utilities. Under $1000 is a good budget for a room, maybe not the apartments near the mall that go for $2200-2500-2800 for two bedroom, but you can get a decent room in a family townhouse. If you have transportation you can look at basements/efficiency apartments/guesthouses in the Woodstock etc area but these most likely are going to be at least $1000-1200.

We love coming to Navy Yard from time to time but I agree living there is a little different. Columbia definitely feels a lot safer, especially if you’re looking in areas around HCC, towards Fulton, Clarksville, Ellicott City, Woodstock etc
