You're going to die /s

In all seriousness just use some common sense and you'll be fine. Follow the usual big city (of which Springfield is not) guidelines of avoiding walking on streets that are empty late at night, mind your surroundings, don't flash valuables. Since you'll be around campus mostly you'll be fairly safe. MSU has a pretty robust security team and the neighborhoods around that would be a 15 min walk are filled with college students and generally ok people.

I have never found a good one. If you're wanting variety and quantity the Riksha and Canton Inn are both good plus really cheap and for the price of what one buffet meals costs you can get 2 full entrees.

Unless you're Wolverine you don't have enough extra bone density to throw off BMI. And your age, race and sex won't matter when you look at a BMI that says you're this tall and weigh this much so you are either over, under or at a healthy weight. As for muscle mass if you're that built to be throwing off BMI your doctor can look at you and tell. My BMI always comes back high but I also compete in bodybuilding. The doctor just shrugs and notes extra muscle and we move on with the physical.

Lastly - you know you're allowed to ignore your doctor when they tell you that you're overweight and need to diet? Most of the US does already.

Not Mexican but don’t sleep on the food truck park’s La Chiva Colombiana. I have Colombian friends that say it’s as good as anything back home.

What did a bunch of teenagers need to do downtown in the 90s before it was revitalized or on Kearney street other than get in trouble? We were fine playing our Super Nintendo games at all night sleepovers. I don’t feel like I missed anything.

When you grow up a Kickapoo kid in the 90s Springfield stopped at sunshine on the north and glenstone on the east side.

Back in my days working for corporate McDonald’s the local franchisees would vote to bring those sorts of products in for a season. They’re not very popular with them because it requires more work in the restaurant for not much of an increase in sales. So looks like they didn’t want them this year.

Lindberg's makes excellent drinks and makes for a good spot to eat and have a couple of drinks before the real party gets started at another bar.

I am not doubting you are trying to do what is in their best interest and my answer may be something you have done in the past. My recommendation as someone that in the past worked with extremely troubled teenagers, many with true psychosis is to seek an independent evaluation from a mental health professional not associated with any of facilities in the city. Someone affiliated with a facility's first answer will likely be institutionalization for a short time and that may not be in the best interest of your teenager.
