Food processors are inherently bulky. I have a Breville 16 cup I let it sit on a steel table full time rather than pulling it in and out. Thing is a beast. It’s good for dicing multiple potatoes, slicing a entire large block of cheese into shreds, making mayo, etc…

Look for woven rugs and not those fuzzy carpet like rugs. More expensive but guaranteed to last longer. On my bucket list. I had a opportunity to buy some rugs in Qatar rug shop once and it was very personable. Ultimately I decided against it because personally I wasn’t making enough then to spring 100s in a single rug then.

Steele if you want something tough. I personally use a couple cheap plastic bins from target and aldi and they still look like new 2 years later. Both feel like a quality plastic meant to last. But yeah plastic.. if you’re zerowaste look into canvas laundry bins from Steele.

I have a Lodge enameled cast iron which if you take care of it will outlast you … made some Chile in mine yesterday. Think I paid around $70 ish for it at Costco a few years ago. Similar sized Le Cruset would set me back closer to $400.

I once asked the barbers at ramstein air base what they used ages ago and they claimed they had to provide all their own equipment they just rented the space. Also claimed the equipment even commercial stuff ends up breaking fast as in you’re lucky to get 6 to 12 months out of an clipper before it burns out. That said for personal use I’m sure there equipment would last you 20 years. They use their clippers 8 plus hours a day.
