You'll also need it (or alternative like a passport) to get into Federal buildings like courthouses.

However, the deadline is now 2025 (and counting). I wouldn't renew your license just to get the Real ID, but if you're renewing anyway, it's probably worth it, as it's really not that big a deal.

Not quite the same situation, but I just did a back of the envelope calculation for my house after switching to a heat pump from a 96% efficiency gas furnace.

Comparing last years bills to this year (avg temp was almost exactly the same) I found: Using the therms to kWh equivalence, we used about 1/3 of the energy as last year to heat the house. However, electricity is about 3.8x the cost of gas for the same amount of energy, so my total cost went up some (but not an outrageous amount). I'm willing to pay somewhat more if I'm reducing my carbon footprint, so the next step is to figure out how much NG is used to generate a kWh of electricity. If I'm not reducing carbon emissions enough (or at all) to justify the extra cost, I'll go back to using the gas furnace.

Foreign co-worker of mine got pulled over on I-90 out near Cleveland. He told the cop "Isn't the speed limit 90?" Cop: "What makes you think it is 90?" Co-worker points to the route number sign and says "See, 90" Cop rolls his eye and says "You win, get out of here, and slow down"

It's worth a shot.

I can speak to Philly as I'm from there. I always say it's quantitatively different, but not qualitatively.

It warms up a couple weeks earlier in the spring in Philly. The temperature is usually a couple degrees warmer.

But you still need to get a good winter coat and boots, and worry about how your car drives in the snow. Most people I know down there have snow blowers. There are winters when my relatives get dumped on and we get next to no snow.

Nobody is moving to Philly or NYC after they retire to get away from the cold and snow.

Did you previously live in MA and have the cars registered here?

Edit: I should read. Yes. That's the reason. MA thinks your car was out of state the whole time and your sticker is expired.

From the web site:

>If you have been out of state for one or more years and have an expired sticker, your vehicle will be treated as a late inspection and receive the January sticker of the current year. If you have submitted the proper Out of State Inspection Form as outlined on the form, you will receive credit for that and receive a sticker with the month in which it is being inspected.
