Well the intro program before the movie about "How to Alamo" still says to Tip your Server and sign your receipt. So the messaging still isn't clear.

I mean, that's what the online customer service told me when I asked why we couldn't order ahead anymore, and then I was told by an employee something more along the lines that insinuated it was to make more money. So who knows, but the financial burden is put on the customer either way. The 18% isn't a standard thing across Alamo locations. And some have been straightforward in saying the 18% is a gratuity and additional tip isn't necessary.

The info is so convoluted. On the tip line on the receipt, it says "additional tip", which straight up implies the 18% also goes to the waiter.

Unless they added the function back in recently (last month or so), they removed the ability to order food online. I reached out to them, and they said it was because there were too many errors at other locations that it was entirely removed by the app.
Edit: what's with the downvotes- my information isn't wrong or even critical of the action lol

Google reviews are helpful until Mike Hickman calls out the person in the Eat Springfield MO group and says the nastiest/most unprofessional things about them. And then the group admins there just shut off comments and allow him to be a shitty person even though they don't even allow people to discuss normal experiences at restaurants if they aren't 100% glowing ass kissing reviews.
I liked why and how that group started with covid, but it's turned into a business venture and has made me completely sour to it.

Simple campaign political stickers on a vehicle are way different than the flags/tshirts/lights/posters/and crude attack stickers that have stuck around.

Yeah, I guess a sad benefit of COVID is that all the trump supporters that Herman Caine'ed themselves really opened up property availability these last few years. Carpe diem, eh?

Costco apparently has good furniture, asking with a good return policy. I've not yet used them for that yet though.

It's also about a rich couple who thought they could bully their way into a big payout and gambled on being able to change zoning so they can build high end apartments. I'm not sacrificing our natural resources so some capitalist can profit.

Getting an entire clamshell of fried pickles, French fries, and 3 huge chicken tenders was great for like $8. I should have known that once they started cracking down on paying for extra sauces of tiny half-filled ranch, they were on the downward.

I'm not aware of that, and I would like to see your sources for that information. I find it interesting that cost of living would be calculated on a quarterly basis as I would think some of the factors are better determined on a longer scale.
Nevertheless, I think KC and StL, while similar in basic living costs, sacrifice some things that I enjoy in Springfield. Commute, safety, and proximity to outdoor recreation, to name a few.

Nope, I've lived in small and big cities out West, and I still visit out there yearly, but I'll only keep it visits unless I get a substantial raise that's above and beyond. Growing up, my mindset was different, but I definitely appreciate Springfield now that I've moved back and I'm more involved in the community and have a group of similar-minded friends as a late 20s adult. Out west, like in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Denver, San Francisco, I see a lot of sadness in the permanent and growing homeless populations. Everyone is being priced out unless they have generational benefits like homes or pooling resources.
Springfield has shitty aspects of it, but that happens everywhere, including the far right&religious groups that pisses a lot of people off. But Springfield offers a great cost of living mixed with enough amenities that life isn't too bad. We've got some amazing access to the public outdoors, like Greenway trails, lakes, and rivers; and we have some really great hikes within 1-2 hours. We don't have natural resource challenges to the degree the West is increasingly having (water, energy, climate change effects). We have all the major consumer amenities (Costco, fancy whole foods type stores, movie theaters, decent accessible airport), and major concerts/shows are just a few hours away. Plus we've got a dozen decent breweries, a decent downtown that continues to improve, and a great restaurant scene if they can survive the coming recession 🙃
I have found that inserting myself into the community through volunteering and civic engagement really increased my feelings of wanting to fight for the good I see in Springfield. We have a lot of people in the trenches who are always fighting for a better Springfield.

Like the Facebook comment, they should have stuck with what made them popular: walk up counter chicken joint with simple menu. They ruined themselves. I did wonder how a restaurant decided it was smart to move to a large location in the middle of covid and completely change their business.
