Reply to LPT You will never please or be liked by everyone. It didn't work for Jesus, Buddha, and Confucius, and it won't work for you. by [deleted]
The three examples weren’t interested in being liked. The Buddha wanted to become one with the universe; Jesus wanted to speak inconvenient truths to the rulers to force them to kill him.
But your point still stands; try to be in harmony with others but never try to make them like you.

If you live in one of the few jurisdictions where looking at your phone is legal while driving, get a dash mount for it, because touching your phone while driving is likely still illegal.
And make sure the dash mount is positioned where the phone doesn’t obstruct your view of the outside, but is as close to the hood horizon as possible.

That depends entirely on your job and your mistake.
I’m pretty sure everyone knows where Bill Cosby went wrong.

1.5kg of liquid water (which is non compressible) has a mass of 1.5kg (and equivalent weight in newtons at STP).
Coca Cola is water plus syrup (which will be somewhat compressible and potentially less dense) plus carbon dioxide.
If you let the CO2 settle out, you will likely have around 1.3 litres of sugar water left.

Yup.
In most of the world, fuel consumption is litres per kilometre, which maps to battery consumption in a more logical way. The MPG rating is often just the l/km rating converted.

It’s an equivalence thing so you can compare the efficiency of ICE, BEV and PHEV vehicles.
They just compare energy consumption and convert it to if that energy was from gasoline.

Yup. I had a few run-ins with pre-disgruntled delivery drivers who messed with my food years ago. First step was to report the driver. Second was to stop using the service. Then I realized that almost all delivery services are taking advantage of the drivers and I stopped ordering delivery altogether.
Then again, I can make better food faster for cheaper, so unless it’s a catering situation, I’m not going to be ordering food delivered anymore anyway, now that I’ve broken the habit.

Volunteer somewhere. Doing something productive that benefits others that they appreciate is a huge boost when feeling drained from the study grind and putting yourself out there for someone to hire.

Personally I’d love to see delivery drivers unionize.

It is. Your employer should be paying you a fair wage.
If it helps at all, I no longer get delivery at all, although I can afford it, because I can’t conscionably support the employers that don’t pay their employees a fair wage.

Reply to Eli5 , why does a virus sometimes kill a host even though it needs said host to survive ? by vizo92
The short answer is: because it doesn’t need that host to survive.
Viruses are trying to replicate as quickly as possible using host cells. A virus that spreads easily and quickly can kill its hosts as long as it has had a chance to reproduce and infect another organism first.
The ones that don’t succeed in doing this die out.

Takes away some of the bitterness and adds richness.
The tips here can apply to any cooking, including adjusting the flavour of a coffee:

Caffeine hit or… that’s what’s being offered.
Since black coffee is sharp, bitter and acidic, there are plenty of things you can do to it to change its flavour profile.
Hey… add guacamole, and you’ve added fat and salt and a bit more acid. Might actually taste good.

Sugar adds sweetness; cream adds fat. Only other things really would be to add some cayenne pepper or wasabi for spice, or some miso for umami.
Or you can go a different route and melt some chocolate into it, which already has a balance of sugar, fat and cocoa.

Actually, you may want to run a 2x4 or something else like that instead of drywall, since it appears to be fully exposed to the outside.
Maybe this door is slightly shorter than the old one was?

Yikes!
Looks like you need a strip of drywall and a run of weather stripping attached to that. Then you need some foam core to drop into the aluminum slots in the door — this helps a LOT to prevent heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer. Last thing if you don’t have it is weather stripping down the sides of the opening.
