Have you been checked for depression? Everything seems meaningless if you are dealing with it. Also over-thinking things can cause issues. If you're not dealing with depression, do something to get out of yourself? A hobby maybe. There's an expression that says something to the effect that knowledge preceeds interest. So even if you think it's not a hobby you like, once you know something about it, it might interest you. I love volunteering for the local humane society. For me personally, I find meaning working and helping give animals a better life. It gets me out of my own head and I can give back to others. Limit time on social media, news, etc.

Reply to LPT: If you are looking at your phone while stopped at a red light, hold the phone up in front of you rather than looking down at it. You will notice when the light changes and traffic starts moving. by no_username_for_me
Safety tip...don't look at your phones while driving. Nothing is that important to risk the safety of others. If it is that important, do other drivers a favor and pull off the road and take your call.

I'm not sure I can actually help but I used to live in California close to Hollywood and all the major movie studios. My first thought would be, have you taken any acting classes so that you know you have acting potential? Have you done any work that requires acting? I've seen way too many in the LA area come here with big dreams and then crash and burn. It requires lots of money to move (go on Zillow or some other website) and check out the expenses to living in LA or NYC). Check out actors biographies and how they managed their lives and careers. Most worked second jobs for many years before being "discovered". For example Brad Pitt worked at a fast food chicken restaurant to support himself. Are you prepared to the sleeze factor in the acting world (the Harvey Weinstein types). It's not always the glamour some think it is.

They weren't knowledgeable, I agree. They expected a large increase but not 1200 a month. Luckily, it's been a relativel mild winter otherwise I can't image the cost.

Reply to Question regarding electricity bills… by [deleted]
I think it's the fact you're using electricity. One of my friends (family of 4) just moved from their house that was heated with oil and propane. Their new house is all electric heat. Their bill was $1,200 for the month. They were shocked and so stressed out. Similar to your emotions, I imagine. You're not alone.

There are lots of health issues that you could say are personal choice. Smoking over-eating and obesitiy, addictions. I'm guessing you don't consider gender dysphoria an actual issue for trans folks or think it's a choice, so you prefer your tax dollars not going to it.

The Common Man Inn in Plymouth. It has cozy rooms and spa where you can get all sort of relaxing things like massages, facials, pedicures, etc. It's has a pool with an awesome waterfall.

I like Cannon, but everyone has difference preferences. You can get a Ski 93 pass and lets you use several mountains in along the 93 corridor.

I'm from NH and used to love LL Bean. I've bought several women's flannel shirts from there and they were made in El Salvador. I couldn't believe it when I saw that on the collar tag. I find most of their clothes way overpriced but the quality is good.

I know a lot of hospitals in NH are overwhelmed with kids with RSV and no beds are available. The entire hospital system and its staff are under intense pressure between RSV, Flu and Covid.

I moved here from California, too. I totally agree with you on medical care. In the two years I’ve been here I’ve only been able to see a Nurse Practitioner.

I can handle snow easier than the huge increase in oil and propane bills that go with it.

Here's the NH Fall Foliage tracker website. It's a good source to check out when the peak is around the state.

Here's a link that gives you information on when the leaves are turning and where to see that most color. The leaves where I am (lakes region) seem to be turning earlier than usual, so you should see some vivid colors. The Cog Railroad is fun (a bit pricey) and there's also a van that takes people up Mount Washington, too.

Yikes. 30 hours of plowing has too be brutal. Glad the power was on (perfect timing) and you can get some serious sleep/rest before the next storm rolls in (Wed/Thursday from what I hear.
