Take it to any iPhone or android repair shop and they’ll clean the lint and gunk out for free. Charges brand new even with janky chargers. by FappinPlatypus
Fully believe it’s just the lifestyle we live. I’m on my phone 24/7 for work and home. I don’t look at it when I’m placing it in my pocket 99.9% of the time. I don’t think anyone else really does either.
Either way, I suggested an easy an free fix. And like always, yes, there is preventative measures.

I advised against that, simply because most people aren’t careful enough sticking a pointed wooded object into an electronic port with tiny pins that could ruin your phone.

That doesn’t prevent much. Lint and gunk will build up regardless. Put in your bag, pocket, upside, downside. I’ve tried them all, they all end up the same.

Exactly. To quote Thomas Jefferson “I haven’t failed, I found 10,000 ways that don’t work.”
