Now if we could just get some enforcement of the tinted plate covers and temp tags, so that everyone is subject to those same rules, we'd really be getting somewhere.

Allowing motorists to do whatever they want without consequence is the ultimate preference given to drivers.

See for yourself. Don't worry about it; I loved the Mummer's when I moved here 10 years ago, too. You have to see the stories about the racist stuff every year for a few years to really notice that it's a pattern and definitely not an accident.
Fattom23 t1_j2esxm0 wrote
The schedule's extremely loose, but there likely will be 9 hours between the beginning of the parade and the last display of veiled racism, yes.

Are median parkers now just Kenyatta Johnson's entire constituency?

It's because bass is the greatest instrument of all time. It's impossible to be a great band without a great bass player.

Good to know. I hope I don't have complaints, but it's good to be prepared.

Good advice. I hate the part at the end where I rely on Philly PD to do anything, though.

I don't have a lawyer; there hasn't even been damage to the house. I'm just trying to do the stuff people say "I wish I'd done" before any construction starts.

I'm expecting the house will be totally demolished (it's really far gone). Are they still displayed before there are even windows?

I've had an inspection within the last year; I wonder if that's sufficient to document the state of the house if anything should go wrong?

They have to show permits upon request, right? I'm concerned about the permits not being loaded into Eclipse right away, so I won't see them.

Not that it helps much now, but lowering your Comp deductible to 0 would likely cost next to nothing ($5-10 a month). I'd investigate, especially if you have a Kia in a major population center.

I don't know: a bunch of people who can either take the subway or walk or just pay the meter like everyone else who wants to bring their car?

Nah, I should be less ambiguous. More parking enforcement, always.

Love the shout-out for looser parking enforcement. Some people just don't get it; cars don't shop, people do.

The panel space is way less of an issue than having to hire someone to run the wires and install the breaker (since the fact that I have these questions proves I shouldn't do that work). But it's good to know Philly follows the 2017 code without modification; that's super useful.

Yeah, that's definitely the way to do it when you're running wires for the first time. I was hoping to avoid it because there's already wiring there, but I think I'll need an electrician to run the new wires.

Yeah, police corruption will always be an issue. But I'd rather there be some camera enforcement and then we have to rein in the cops to get them to follow the law the same as I expect from others than for us to just to not even try.
