i was once told a greatly elongated version of this story. The man spun it out into a nearly hour long tail of an aspiring pirate who served as a cabin boy to Captain Crowheart. It included full exposition, detailing in minutiae the boy‘s early life and strife on a Caribbean isle. The pirates did not simply fight two sea battles, but many, many more. The punchline was delivered only when the pirates faced off against a complete armada of british naval vessels.
It was a good story though.
