They hire recent grads who are renting in SA and Manchester, not buying homes

Yeah I've never once in my life pondered if I want to wait in a line for an hour to pay $70 for BBQ or if I want late night Mac and Cheese. There's demand for more than 3-5 restaurants, particularly casual restaurants, in Scott's Addition.

They are weird (knew one of their daughters pretty well) but very very kind people.

They're not going to be budget apartments but it at least gives people more options and potentially moves high income people out of lower priced units.
Right now split floor 1BR apartments that are less than 700 sq ft go for 1700-2200 in Scott's

You had four meals at Texas Roadhouse for under $50? It's fast food quality steak but I still find that hard to believe.
$50 would be $12.50/person including taxes and tip but the cheapest steak I see on their menu is $13, chicken meals also start at $13.

This is pretty standard, downside to being in a small city.
I got mine done in 2018 coming in from JFK, most people I know who have it have also gotten it on the way home.

Just because the median household income in a geographic area is above the median for the entire metro doesn't mean the area is an ultra wealthy elitist area like you're implying.
There's ton of normal people in Short Pump and the West End.
That data also supported my earlier point, there's like 10 other geographic areas in the metro with a higher median area than the one high income area near Short Pump (looks like Wyndham but not totally sure)
Editing to add that I'm not a man since you keep responding multiple times to anything I comment on reddit

I never said that people in Short Pump or the west end are poor. It's just not some ultra wealthy elitist area like you're making it out to be.

Lol I don't know what you're going on about. There's tons of normal people in Short Pump and the west end. It's not fancy, formal, upscale etc. that's literally just nonsense unless you think all newer suburbs fit that description.

Michael Kors and Warby Parker aren't particularly expensive either.

It's not fancy or upscale, it just has more expensive new construction houses and better school districts.
Westhampton, River Road and Windsor Farms are fancy/upscale etc.

Short Pump isn't fancy- it's literally just a bunch of chains around a suburban mall
