That's exactly what we were told upon moving there. My wife has a high-school friend who lived out in North Bend for 9 years and they still hadn't made any strong connections. I get it, people stick with their own, especially in the PNW.

Oh, I never said we were stuck indoors, just trying to make sense of it. We lived in Hawaii for 7 years and had a much better experience getting to know locals. Where are you from? We lived there for 4 years and experienced the Seattle freeze ourselves. Washington is known for this and likely has something to do with people being stuck indoors 9 months out of the year. We live in Florida now and people are much more friendly.
