My furnace broke in February, and unfortunately I didn't realize until the next morning that the tension rods-held shelf in the tank stand collapsing earlier that week had unplugged the tank heater. Just having no heat for 24ish hours killed 1/2 of my tropical fish.

I don't think it merely borders on malice. The cops admitted they didn't bother to check if the shelter in Manchester even had a space for her.
