It's an older game, but "Manhunt", from Rockstar Games, has some satisfying violence. No animals or robots, just other humans to kill.

I think there is a mod for Starbound that uses amino acids as a crafting item.

"Phantasm", for some reason my dad thought this was an okay movie to take an eight year old to see. The Tall Man, zombie dwarves, and the flying death orbs made quite an impact on me.
