I wasn’t challenging your point. More of a reply out of curiosity.

Would be amazed if anyone accurately predicted a LLM chatbot getting to 100m users 2 months after launch in 2022.

Part of me thinks that they’re using the hype surrounding GPT-4 as a marketing tool. Especially with Sam Altman tempering expectations in his recent interview. There is clearly a ton of misinformation about what it’s truly capable of so why not just market a slightly better version of GPT-3/3.5 integrated into Bing and just call it GPT-4?…Or just drop a bomb on everyone and release the beast.. 🤞

Imagine a couple months ago hearing someone say they’re ditching google for bing.. Exciting times.

I’d love to be a fly on the wall at their headquarters. They’re gonna have to release the genie soon.

“Deep down even you know I’m correct because you can’t even actually argue with what I’m telling you.”
I was going to write out a whole counterargument to your comment but then I read this. Fuck the fuck off dude and if you don’t understand why I’m saying this, go ask ChatGPT.

Completely agree. Unfortunately the way the AI works isn’t easily explainable as of now, so uneducated critics or artists with a bias toward AI content will immediately call it a “collage tool” instead of focusing on the power that it has to expand art.
I’m a musician myself and I cannot fucking wait till the models are capable of producing anywhere near the equivalent musically that the text to image models are doing now because I will immediately use it as a tool to expand my art and expression to get the most accurate output of my emotions and the story I want to tell. That’s the biggest part of the conversation thats’s missing right now in my mind.. The great visual artists of today should be, or are probably already using AI to amplify their talents. AI, for now.. is just raising the bar of how the average person can attempt to express themselves, it’s up to the artists to view it as a tool or a threat.

I got an art piece commissioned by a human being in mid 2021 and posted it to a subreddit the other day. Someone commented and said “this is, without a doubt AI art” I then replied and clarified it wasn’t and then I credited the artist. They then proceeded to tell me I got ripped off because they must’ve used AI to make it and started explaining how certain details were off that were consistent with the models. I then showed them proof (the commission receipt) that I purchased the commission before Dalle-2, Stable Diffusion or Mid-Journey were anywhere near capable of generating something like this. They then called it trash anyway and said Dalle came out in 2021.. even though the original Dalle couldn’t do anything close to the art piece. Some people man…

The people who are already hating on any content created by AI are pissing me off way more than people who are downplaying the progress of it lol.

Singing. For example, I have an instrumental track of Fleetwood Mac’s - Landslide and I want Freddy Mercury to sing it.
Found this after I made this post.
