Ugly weather calls for grabbing the corner booth at your favorite spot with good friends. Some of my very best Richmond memories are from walking to Commercial Taphouse or The Franklin Inn during a blizzard and eating and drinking and laughing for hours.

Maybe you can make your own favorite memories this weekend at one of the events in The Weekend Event Thread! Or let people know about the event you're looking forward to and add your own.

Leftovers for lunch! Roasted garlic instant mashed potatoes (don't hate, they're delicious!) with sardines in spicy tomato sauce with a side of quick pickled cucumbers. Lunch is always either leftovers, or tinned fish of some sort (sardines, mackerel, mussels, etc) with crackers, cream cheese, and various pickled and fresh veggies. One of the perks of working from home is eating as much fish as I want for lunch.

Sun / THE 15TH ANNUAL CONE PARADE @ The Aquarian Bookshop/ 12pm

Usher in prosperity for the coming year. Want to participate? Visit www.coneparade.com to sign up. Then design and construct your cone costume for the parade. The more creative, the better!

Meet at the parking lot in front of the Aquarian Bookshop (12 S. Thompson St) at noon with your cone ready to march along the parade route down Cary St to Arthur Ashe Blvd and back.

Why cones? In sacred geometry, cones are a powerful symbol of bringing forth and focusing energy. (Besides, it's just fun!)

**THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST EVENT OF THE YEAR. DO NOT MISS IT.
