No, I doubt the people with the money to undertake such a project would ever be willing to lose the commercial and office space on top of Penn Station just so commuters have a nicer experience while waiting 15 minutes for their train.

Geographically, Brooklyn and Queens are on Long Island even if culturally, what we think of as "Long Island" is Nassau and Suffolk counties.

I might tip if I had to fill-up on Christmas Day or New Year's Eve, but I typically plan in advance to avoid needing gas on a holiday.

I mean... you might be right but I'm skeptical.
It's faster to take a bus from Weehawken to NYC than the light rail down to Hoboken and the PATH across (or the ferry downtown if you're rich) and I don't really see what the draw is for people in Bayonne, Jersey City, or Hoboken to shop in Weehawken or Edgewater.

It's a mix of the oil industry not being nationalized and under government control but also, not all oil is the same so we end up selling grades that we don't need and buying grades that we do.

The ferry's been down there for decades and the light rail was finished in 2005... I feel like the only thing that changed was the Imperatore family and others deciding to develop the land?
The developers say it's safe but tbh you couldn't pay me to live on top of a chemical waste site with the amount of corruption that goes on in the redevelopment industry.

It's pretty cool how Republican voters don't care that he was pro-abortion, pro-gun control, and voted with Nancy Pelosi 98% of the time, but then someone was mean to Trump so he switched all of his policy views overnight.
