To be honest I have no idea why it even got downvoted in the first place. It's not like I took any offense to it, but I guess others did for me. There are two sides of the spectrum, those that say cold pizza has to be cooked first to be pizza, and those that say a prepped pizza is already a pizza, so it's pizza without being cooked.
I fell on the latter end, but both ways could be true depending on your definition of pizza. If we are playing by the book, I'd say it would make more sense for it to need to be heated for it to be a pizza, but I still would call a frozen pizza a pizza so I didn't think about it by the book at the time.
Either way you look at it though, it's not really worth arguing over something this simple in the grand scheme of things, lol. It was still a pretty good shower thought, and much better than other generic ones I hear all the time. Everybody is entitled to their own opinions, so arguing over opinions will just lead to people getting upset. It's when we are arguing with facts that it's more understandable though, but even so I'd say it's more important to remain civil and friendly rather than bashing people because of an opinion. Not something you see often online sadly, that's for sure.

Fair enough, better off using your time on something that is actually beneficial or enjoyable. You as well, take care of yourself.

Glad to hear that. Not often you see that online, especially in a subreddit such as this one. Arguing online over important topics is never something I care for. Over topics that literally don't matter though? I'm all for it until it gets out of hand lol

Lol, I'm just a random guy on the internet with an opinion that doesn't really even matter. No need to change your post to appease me. I didn't type all of that to bash you, just to point out that IMO a cold pizza is also considered a pizza. Could I have done it in a less demeaning way? Looking back, absolutely. No way to turn back time though, and regardless neither of our lives were really changed by the outcome anyways. It was an interesting shower thought at least, one of the more original ones I've seen lately.

Think of it like an egg. An egg is an egg regardless if it's cooked or not. You do not eat an egg before it is cooked, but that doesn't take away that it is an egg. A pizza, hot or cold is a pizza based on the dough/crust, a sauce of some sort, cheese/toppings. If I see a frozen pizza, I still consider it a pizza. Would I eat it cold? No. But it is cold before I heat it up.

Cookie dough, cake batter, and brownie batter are all also things that are not considered edible before they are cooked, yet people eat them all the time. Albeit in small doses (I'd hope.)

I'd argue that pizza dough with toppings on it is just an uncooked pizza, in the same way that cookie dough is just an uncooked cookie, or that cake batter is just uncooked cake.

Cooking a pizza is different from simply making a pizza. You can make a pizza and not heat it up. To cook one, you would indeed have to heat it up before it can cool down. Otherwise though, it is cold before it is hot.
IVIaster222 t1_itoev2y wrote
Not really. Who said anything about heating the pizza up in the first place?

You absolutely can judge other people's skill despite never attempting something before. Have you ever judged the verdict of a referee? Or a song? Or a video game? Or the food that somebody else has made? Or the build quality of something you are purchasing? Judging other people's works is something literally everybody does. Saying you can't do it is just not true. Now saying that we shouldn't judge other people when we haven't attempted it ourselves would be understandable, but that wasn't the exact question that was asked here.

Not sure what store you are talking about, but where I work we are told to ask every single customer including those that are basically early 20s. Pretty much if they have a cart, ask. It's not a sign that they think you need help out. It's a service. That's how my store treats it anyways.
