Not really. Spent many a winter morning outside waiting for the school bus. And then ran the town streets after school for practice. Lemme tell ya about the time coach sent us out to do Ohio Hills when the temp was sub-zero and the wind was blowing...

Use the heater spaced like the old radiators. I have ceramics, baseboard style and the oil-radiators. All are easy to operate but the radiators are more efficient. A brand new one will give off a bit of an odor for the first hour or two. If you have a larger room, the industrial looking heater that has a fan works better at distributing the heat.

Do not use household extension cords with space heaters.

Also, avoid placing heaters on carpet.

imho, utilities should not be able to grab an interest free loan from customers, which is how overcharges are typically handled. Given the recent inflation and price increases on nearly everything, there is a growing population that simply cannot afford to be forced to pay in advance. Not disconnecting or surcharging customers helps ease the burden, but seriously? Too many industry folks within PUC, imho.

In other words, the guy who can only to afford to live in a trailer now would be taxed at the same level as a guy who can afford to put a mansion upon his property?

Still seems like a dumb idea that needs much more thought.

There is an entire chapter in the PBI book on uniformity, along with a volume of case law and Article VIII, Sect 1 of the PA Constitution, but generally it means all properties in the same category must be assessed similarly. For instance, if your assessed fair market value for a 1 acre lot with a medium-size house is one value but a similar neighbor's house is noticeably less, then there is a uniformity issue. Same class, same assessed value.
