I guess I would call it more a redemption story arc than a zero to hero story arc. The reason I chose Encanto was because her character started off powerless through no fault of her own and later realises her power that she can use to help her family. So to me that is a zero to hero story arc. But if the protagonist is the cause of the problem then the act of fixing the problem is the character trying to make amends which to me is more align with a redemption story arc.

Since you don't know the other films you now should have plenty to watch 😉.

Because you said you wanted zero to hero I wasn't sure Raya and the Last Dragon counted since Raya starts off as a warrior princess. If that fits what you are looking for then if you haven't seen it Brave would be of a similar vein.

No, I actually had a google after posting and it turns out the movie rights in 2014 reverted back to Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc. They are shopping them around hoping to kick start a franchise.

Well the closest I can think of is Moxie and The Duff, unless you are willing to broaden out to things like Ladybird, Ghost World, Real Women have Curves, The Edge of Seventeen, Eighth Grade, We Are The Best, Sunny

If Wolf of Wall Street is one of your examples I would suggest Kick Ass
Otherwise there is Booksmart, Moxie, The Duff, Hunger Games, Mad Max Fury Road, Hidden Figures, Erin Brockovich, Jackie Brown, 9-5, A league of their own, Captain Marvel, Joy, Encanto, And if you don't mind an anthropomorphic cartoon Zootopia

The Golden Compass was recently remade into a TV series that was quite successful so think licensing might be a issue there. I don't know who owns the option for John Carter. The issue comes to the licensing. Not anyone can just remake a book adaption. Studios and production companies basically rent a licensing agreement and it is up to them whether they use it. Sometimes they can be locked away for years till they expire and either someone else buys it or they renew it and lock it away again or use it. It comes down to whether they prioritise making it or not. I suppose if a director comes to the owner of the agreement with a really could pitch perhaps they would let them make it.

Rules are for losers🤪 If you want to make the most expensive work of art ever go for your life. At least he made his money back and then some. How many artists can claim that? If I want to watch characters and plots there are plenty other films and TV to watch.

Gigli, there was actually an interesting idea in the premise and could have been turned into an absurdist heartfelt comedy but they wanted to be all serious and just made it boring and confused.

Nearly every movie I have watched 😂. I don't usually rewatch movies. Though at the moment I am doing a rewatch of movies I watched in my youth just to see if the hold up to my nostalgic memory of them. Just watched Spy Kids and I was happy to see that film held up for me.

As much as I enjoy some of the Marvel content how long did they really think it could last? The reality is there aren't that many fanatical fans and the longer the story goes the amount of content makes it intimidating for people who want to get into the series. Every story has to end at some point doesn't it?
