There will be people asking all summer if produce from local farmers markets are safe.

You would think at some point people would think logically and realize if things around here were okay last week when this actually happened, then they're okay now, but apparently not.

Over/under for how many "is this acid rain" posts you think there will be tomorrow?

That's ridiculous. Despite what so many people in the sub say because they always want to compare it to somewhere like Chicago or Boston, if you're in the city or inner ring suburbs, the bus service here is generally fine.

What the hell? Bus service in Oakland is solid.

Yeah though they might get a little less, they are definitely less prone to that 45 to 50 degree day in January than we are that can melt everything quite quickly.

Very true. It feels like a time warp to 1998 when you're there

Station Square blows IMO. It could be so much better and interesting than it is.

Yeah, it's definitely best to avoid going out to eat on Valentine's Day and the weekend before the "holiday". I know it's the feast day for an actual saint, but the whole thing feels like a farce by card and chocolate companies to make money in between Christmas and Easter.

At least according to the NWS averages, Chicago is noticeably colder in the winter, but annual snowfall between the two cities annually is actually slightly higher in Pittsburgh.
The averages also show that Pittsburgh is actually cooler than Chicago from June through October as well. I guess they're more prone to getting the heat and humidity from the Great Plains and Gulf of Mexico then we are at the foothills of the Appalachians.

Agreed. If it can't be the Steelers, I have no problem worth the Eagles winning.
As long as the Flyers keep not winning the cup lol

Same for me basically. I don't like the heat, so I don't spend much time outside in the middle of the afternoon during the summer unless I'm at a pool.

The right one could definitely be popular here with the more young professional crowd instead of the types of people who places like Tequila Cowboy and Foxtail attract. The clubs we do have around here quickly lose their appeal once you're in your mid to late 20s.

If someone disagrees with me, I'd be curious of places they had in mind, but Pittsburgh is not really a club city. Especially the kind of clubs I think you would be looking for. This is definitely much more of an arena with a bar/pub scene over clubbing.

I've never had them either and will likely never get them. I can work from home quite easily and they do a pretty solid job of cleaning the streets quickly where I live. Also as winters like this one show, it's just not consistently cold and snowy enough here to make them worth it. This isn't the Lake Erie snow belt or Montreal.

This sounds like one of those things meant for people who want to be seen and post on Instagram about their supposedly wonderful lives like to go to.

It's been an extremely snowless winter throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic; except for Northern New England. West of the Mississippi though, winter has been more of what they would expect.

I think the thing that's been bugging me about the cloudiness is there's been so little snow cover this winter to negate it. A cloudy winter day does not look anywhere near as depressing if there's snow outside IMO.

Unfortunately, the governor doesn't have the power to do that on his own, and they almost assuredly will not vote for it themselves.

SMH, few must be keeping track or there must be a lot of leeway with "gift ban" then.

Totally agree. I think she's an extremist too, but the things she said did not rise to the occasion of being specific enough to warrant an arrest for threats.
