I actually walked through it recently on the way back from work on the mulberry street side. It’s really nice. Only the pharmacy, Dunkin, and Jersey mikes are open rn but it looks like the Fresh N Co, Uncle Willies Wings, Chip City, and Farinella have exterior signage up and look relatively close to opening soon.
Looking forward to walking through it en route to a Devils game come playoff time! knocks on wood

I kind of take issue with Jersey Digs’ Op-Ed’s for articles like this and that ongoing Mosque sale saga. Not even necessarily for the positions themselves, but how they’re articulated and don’t really make an effort to dive deep into larger nuances.
I respect Jersey Digs’ coverage of a lot of Development in the area that might otherwise go overlooked in the NY/NJ real estate press, but this eats into some of that goodwill.

I think that Amazon always intended to go to NY and DC unless some absolutely ridiculous deal they couldn't refuse showed up at the 11th hour but wanted to bring some competition into the fold for incentives/tax breaks.
Good news for Newark is that the city still benefited from that competition regardless since they were one of the top 10 "finalists" announced by Amazon. Reps for the city said they received a noticeable increase in developers/companies inquiring about potential projects/relocations into the city following that announcement.

If they could touch up the park a bit, between that, these new developments, and the Symphony Hall renovation, that could really spruce up another gateway into downtown, and have Lincoln Park serve as an anchor to connect other developments going on in downtown.
Just have connect the area to the new developments at the Rock/Four Corners/Mulberry Commons area, maybe 1-2 more major buildings near City Hall, and you could see a rejuvenated development area stretching from the Broad Street Station/Branch Brook Park all the way down to Lincoln Park.
Also really hope the city/NJ try to have the Port Authority add that South Street PATH Station too. that would be huge for the area.

My company’s HQ is in downtown Newark and everyone in my division has been fully remote since the pandemic started, Save an occasional seminar or all hands meeting, and for 1-2 “community days” a month where they encourage people to attend in person and schedule team meetings for.
It’s a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy as well since companies have scaled back their in-person amenities as well since the pandemic started. Our company removed the water coolers and emptied out all supplies and appliances (printers, coffee machines, refrigerators, microwaves, tables/chairs, etc) from our break rooms on each floor, and the onsite IT and facilities teams are a skeleton crew at best with limited hours. Our company cafeteria is also being converted to additional meeting space/facilities.
All of this makes sense since there isn’t nearly enough people onsite to justify a normal coverage presence, but it also makes coming back to the office more frequently a harder sell to people as a result.

Aesthetics aside, this is good for downtown to get more people living here 24/7.

Looks like a good way to get some additional utility out of the park at least.
