This will create the same issue we have with high college prices. The government subsidizes the bill rather than attacking the inflated medical costs/greed which only makes healthcare CEOs more rich and kicks the problem down the road.

We saw the same thing happen with the government subsidized college loans/grants.

I'm all for loan forgiveness actually, as long as the root causes are also being addressed simultaneously.

There are certain towns/areas that have MUCH better schools and overall feel. However, they are kinda random in location. Which area you choose (ie. Glastonbury vs. Cheshire vs. Avon/Simsbury) depends on your daily commute. They may look fairly close together on a map, but towns like Simsbury do not have an entrance to the highway. So what should be a short commute ends up being 45 min+

The landlord has zero incentive in locking your girlfriend into a specific rate/lease if they are selling now. Because if they do that, now they have to find a buyer who wants the property AND is okay with the current lease. This alienates a buyer who maybe wanted to live there themself or want different lease terms.

I am guessing the landlord said "yeah I could...but no" in a nice way but didnt make the rejection clear to your girlfriend.
