What you need is a fixed track with a wheeled running on the track and the leash connected to the runner. Think barn door. So depending on how long a track you want to run, it can get expensive.

Interesting. What about building a custom pantry/cabinet from next to the fridge, all the way to the back wall, front out flush with the wall cabinet, the side bottom out to that white box thingy, height to the top of the wall cabinet? The pipe would be within it and you gain some pantry space? Add a countertop to the same level to extend the current countertop.

That way the pipe won't have to support anything.

How far is the pipe from everything (the cabinet, the wall, the fridge)? Is the pipe plumb? It looks close to the wall at the bottom but quite far at the top. Also, what goes through the pipe? There is a gap between the fridge and the wall, do you do anything with it? Can we see a picture zoomed out so we can see the whole space?

Normally, I wouldn't put weight on a pipe (as in mounting things to it) simply because it wasn't designed for it. But building around it make sense. Its just a matter of where to mount what.

So the screen really doesn’t serve any purpose, right? It doesn’t stop bug, it doesn’t ventilate (or does it? Think I see the whole opening is covered by plywood.).

In that case, would you not consider building a mini-wall? From the outside in, some sort of exterior covering/siding/etc., vapor barrier, plywood, insulation, plywood, interior wall.

Looks like layer over layer. Are you planning on changing/redoing the cabinet and shelves? If so, I’d take those off first. Then check and see how far those vertical panels go across. They must be fake planks (large solid back) so it can be attached to the studs or real planks nailed/screwed to plywood or something. Also check the pegboard. Is it behind the panels? Or just butt up against it?

Also, you’ll have to unplug the electrical, unscrew the plate, and see. I bet the plate it’s screwed into the panel too.
