I meant the Clarkson’s Farm Budget specifically (8m$). But yeah Grand Tour had all the money in the world (~160m$).

At this point he has had decades to assemble a great crew of people around him. Credit to Amazon that they let Clarkson, May, and Hammond poach all the old Top Gear talent.
Decent budget, experienced TV crew, and a likable talent in front of the camera. Really simply formula.

It’s a damn shame, because the later books are some of my favorites.

Except sci-fi did the first 3 seasons on their budget, it wasn’t a cheap show but it could be made for the same budget as say Avenue 5.
This article puts it between 3.5-5m/episode.
It’s safe to say they could have made a whole season of The Expanse for the cost of one episode of Rings of Power.

Reply to The first season of Game of Thrones:House of Dragon has ended. What is your opinion about it? by mrnicegy26
Enjoyed it. It does suffer from a lack of scale. Most scenes are just two or three people talking. There are very few scenes of crowds of even small groups. Think of the tourney scene in episode 1, it feels small and remote compared to the same scene in GOT’s first season.
Part of this is that the book is written as a history of one family’s rule, so it naturally focuses on them. Part of it was covid restrictions I’m sure. It’s probably impossible to get 100 extras in costume crowded together, so they do it with editing and CGI.
All in all that’s a small complaint though, excited for season 2.

Your assuming that biological organisms won’t adapt to consume plastics eventually? In a long enough time scale doesn’t it seem likely that everything man made will disappear?
