It’s basic biology - pit bulls have a very high level of testosterone and the outrageous amounts of muscle and bite strength/pressure for it to be a huge problem if they attack.

For reference, I believe Jack Russell terriers are the most aggressive and highest testosterone per breed but the difference is you can pretty easily deal with one with one good kick because of how small they are. And if you do get bit, they don’t have the bite strength to cause substantial damage to adults most of the time.

Not surprisingly, in nature this is the case nearly every single instance where the species with the highest level of testosterone are the most aggressive (ex- bull sharks).

And guess what? Dogs aren’t people. Equating it to racism is a real bad argument.

Maybe it’s just your wording choice and I’m misreading, but it seems like you’re complaining that 2 years is too long to be punished for a DUI.

Be happy you didn’t kill anyone or yourself. Higher insurance premiums is a small price to pay for such a big mistake.

Unfortunately if it says evaluating there’s simply no way to know. It just means crews haven’t been sent yet to the site causing outage to begin working to fix it.

And it’s not like their estimates they provide for when it will be fixed are accurate in any way. Often if I lose power the time will substantially change multiple times.

While I agree that’s an important link to share and I’m glad this option is available, it’s simply not good enough for our legislators to provide warming shelters. We all know very few people over the age of 40 or 50 will see that and the senior citizens are the ones most at risk.

I can’t wait until Duff posts something about how he’s having a wonderful Christmas on Sunday and how he hopes everyone has the same. Light his ass up.

We all complained and moaned (rightfully so) about the fix time for large portions of the state for Isaias but at least that was during the summer where it’s uncomfortable but not dangerous (for nearly everyone, I’m sure some exceptions exist).

A few days fix time for a storm in the middle of winter when temps are about to be in single digits and teens for a few days is completely unacceptable and incredibly dangerous because not everyone has generators, fireplaces, etc to heat their home. Unfortunately, there will be deaths from a multi day outage during this weather and it’s completely insane that it would take that level before our politicians/legislature MIGHT actually do something about it.

Working overnight shift in north central, so far it’s been pretty quiet outside of maybe two gusts.

Seems like updated forecast has the highest wind now between 6-9am.

Kind of makes sense though. Groceries in general keep just skyrocketing without stopping and eggs that used to be 99 cents per dozen at Aldi are now 5x that. Double whammy of avian flu and inflation there

Ok have it your way, next time I won’t be helpful at all.

As another poster has said, you have this shockingly bad attitude for someone who wants to go into medicine where most people (hospital admin aside) are pretty altruistic and want to help people. You portray yourself as a huge jackass.

Why say thank you for tips (a completely normal response) and then 8 hours later with no provocation posted something sarcastic and that has nothing to do with anything I’ve said - when did I call you a stranger/what prompted you to randomly go back and be a jerk on what was essentially a dead thread? That’s not normal.

You need to do a lot more research on what it will take, because if you don’t already have a undergrad degree that’s applicable, you’re looking at more like 12-13 years.

Also, “establishing counter arguments” with people trying to help and answer your questions you is an interesting way of going about this.

I did see your post about possibly wanting a pediatrics shadow so I asked a good friend who works in a large pediatric group about non students shadowing and he laughed pretty hard when I asked him can a random Joe Schmo off the street shadow a doc during visits without being a med student. That’s a huge risk liability for them so I don’t know where you did the shadowing before but that is highly unusual.

And from one human to another, I would highly discourage you from attempting this path just because you’re curious. You’re posts indicate it’s just a passing thing and you’re not motivated or driven enough to spend the next 13 years of your life or so studying or doing rotations, residency, etc for 60 hours a week. This is not a profession you should enter unless you’re 110% sure because if you stop halfway through you’re looking at massive education debt that now you have no way of paying for. Would be much better for you to find an accelerated nursing degree program and you could be done in maybe 2 or 2.5 years depending on how much transfers from prior education.

They state in a different post that they’re 25…so yeah I don’t know what to do with this, it’s not like they’re a 16 year old kid.

Not to mention that if someone is 25 with a non biology/premed/other acceptable to med school degree (some will take other related ones like chemistry), they won’t actually finish with schooling until they’re 39 or 40.

I work in medicine as an AP, not an MD; this is not a good way to look for shadowing.

Are you a current student? Your school at any level should have affiliations locally to set you up with shadowing. Prospective student? I’m not completely knowledgeable about this area, but I’m pretty positive you can’t shadow on patient visits as just a pedestrian and shadowing would be more of a sit down interview with a doc.

I do think nfl refs are FAR more competent than nba and mlb in terms of usually not affecting the game as much. Yeah there are occasional bad holding calls or PI that should or should not have been called, but this was the first game in recent memory where it honestly seemed like a fix was in.

And for what it’s worth, I’m a giants fan, I had no stake in this game whatsoever.
