Not sure about official meetups but definitely check out film screenings at The Columbus Theater, they’ve been showing some smaller great films recently that aren’t being played at the larger cinemas.

If you like beer check out some Providence breweries:
- Longlive
- Moniker
- Beer on Earth
- Narragansett
If you like nice cocktails:
- Isco Spirits Distillery
- The Avery
- Cortland Club
- The Royal Bobcat
- Glou
- Dolores
For things to do:
-
RISD art museum & RISD nature Lab (cool taxidermy bugs and animals). Then walk right across the street and check out the Providence Athenaeum (very old cool library), then walk over to Prospect Park (best view of the city), and then walk over to Dolores and get dinner and drinks for the best margs and tacos you’ll ever have. All within a few blocks of each other.
-
On another day highly recommend driving down to coast! Go for a hike at the Norman Bird Sanctuary or Saschuest Point in Middletown and then maybe grab dinner in Newport, or drive down to Jamestown and check out Beavertail Lighthouse and walk along the trails there.

If you end up wanting to go the Suit route highly recommend 9Tailors! They are absolutely wonderful there and make custom suits for all genders and sizes in awesome colors too! Had a best friend use them for their wedding as a petite person and they were so happy!

Reply to how to deal with winter? by same-shit-everyday
Lots of good advice already but here’s one I don’t see mentioned too often. Change all of your indoor lighting to warmer bulbs, or add mood lighting (salt lamps, led light strips that you can control the color of, lava lamps, etc) having some cozy lights and candles to turn on at blue hour has created a ritual that makes the coming dark bearable.

Anyone saying this neighborhood isn’t safe doesn’t live in Providence city or is a Brown student. It’s perfectly safe and seemingly up and coming, very centrally located to either the west end or east side.
