Would you say the prevalence of work from home has at least somewhat made for more opportunities in terms of careers in the state?

If you're single, how do you find LGBTQ+ dating or hookup culture in more liberal parts of the state?
The areas I visited seemed very open-minded, but I have to imagine finding a partner (either for a night or for life) is difficult regardless of orientation or gender in Maine. Is that assessment correct?

Reply to Bars to go to on NYE? by PollyEsterCO
5801 Video Lounge and Cafe and Cobra are both decent spaces that are hosting a NYE event. Fair warning both tend on the spendy side. 5801 usually gets packed, Cobra is usually pretty dead even on peak nightlife days so there's a chance you may have the place to yourself.

Caveat: most of the local universities require three references to apply even for the most grunt level positions, so make sure the applicant knows 3+ people who can be reached to vouch for him.

I'm assuming the doctors already did the requisite testing and determined OP's kid doesn't have anything contagious.

You need to either take a car or a bus to get to Brewer's from UPMC Children's, though. Not unmanageable but it's just pushing the definition of "close walking range".

I think they are on a technicality "nude dancers" since they don't actually take anything off as part of the performance.

It's the pub with a shamrock by the door in the Strip District.

Lucky's is open every Christmas, if you drink and you're not averse to a place that has male strippers. At least that's my go-to when I get stir-crazy on Christmas Eve/Day lol.

Made me nostalgic for hurricane days in Florida. Similar energy except I still don’t understand why Pennsylvanians don’t just rush out into storm weather with a cheap beer in hand like we did down south.

If OP wants a musical instrument store pretty sure there’s one in McKee’s Rocks?

Yeah there was one of those in Bloomfield over the summer.
(We have our own local nut who claims he’s related to Al Capone - but I don’t think that’s the same guy)

It's the intentionally not having wi-fi charging outlets thing that prevents me from vibing with their whole schtick. I do like that one other place that opened up down the road closer to 5801.
