But DC isn't a state, so how can we be the second most expensive state to retire in - ?

Well, first we need to get someone on r/writingprompts to write us a story. Then we need a screenwriter. Then we need investors. Then we need producers. Then they do all the work. Then = Money!!!

Well, I guess it's a bummer that it finally closed, but it's hardly new news that it was going to be redeveloped. Honestly, I was surprised the TJ Maxx was still there. I do hope that a new movie theater is able to go into that space! Guess we'll see.......

Connecticut Plaza in Woodley Park matches this description (built in the 1920s!) I lived there for over a decade. Not sure about rents though!
I thought DC's assessment page might include building age, alas, it doesn't!

But per OP's description, the at-fault driver did stop. And then pulled into a parking area. At which point the victim took off.
Malnurtured_Snay t1_iy8h3ue wrote
Uhhh ... like the cop absolutely should've stopped, but how is this a hit and run? The instigator pulled into a parking lot ... and the victim drove off? (Pretty sure the definition of a hit and run is the instigator runs).

When my great-great-grandparents came to the U.S., they settled in or near Red Wing. I was in Minneapolis about ten years ago for work, and there was a bar called "The Newspaper" (I think?) that had a bar shaped like a boat. Bartenders had to climb the rigging to get to bottles, and if you were seated near the bow, you had to drink about half your beer before you could put it down without spilling it. What a great place!
